As far as the visa is concerned, Employer and Employee are different and generally you cannot be both at the same time in Japan.
Employer’s visa is mainly called “Business Manager” visa and its rule was tightened from Oct. 16, 2025.
I am afraid we have now much more requirements for this type of visa than before, so we will explain them in this lecture.
As supplementary information, we will also talk about “Start-up Designated Activities”, “Future Creation Individual (J-Find) Designated Activities” and “Highly Skilled Professional (HSP) 1C visa.

Administrative Lawyer (Gyōseishoshi)
Initially commencing his career as a program director at Nikkei Radio Broadcasting Corporation, he further augmented his expertise as a New York correspondent from 1993 to 1994. In 2008, he transitioned into the realm of immigration law, making significant strides at the Administrative Lawyer (Gyoseishoshi) Corporation. He established BIO International in 2015, which he successfully incorporated in 2022.
Holding a B.A. in Liberal Arts from the International Christian University, his profound insights and dynamic experiences make him a compelling voice in the legal sphere.
