In this seminar, Dmitry Kim, founder and CEO of Fairbay Inc., will share his journey from working in the healthcare and medical technology industries to establishing his own company in Tokyo.
He will discuss the practical steps involved in becoming an entrepreneur in Tokyo, including setting up a company, transitioning to a Business Manager Visa, opening corporate bank accounts, and building relationships with Japanese companies.
Drawing on his experience developing cross-border business between Tokyo and overseas markets, he will also explain how he finds business opportunities, approaches Japanese suppliers and customers, manages international transactions, and deals with logistics and regulatory challenges.
The seminar will focus not only on successes, but also on the difficulties and mistakes encountered along the way, offering practical insights for foreign entrepreneurs who are considering building their own business in Tokyo.

Dmitry Kim, Co-founder & CEO, Fairbay Inc.

Dmitry Kim is Co-founder and CEO of Fairbay Inc., a Tokyo-based company engaged in international trade and cross-border business development.
Before becoming an entrepreneur, he worked in healthcare consulting and the medical technology industry in Japan, including business development across international markets. He graduated from the University of Tokyo, where he completed a Master’s degree in International Health.
Following his career at Sysmex Corporation, he co-founded Fairbay Inc. in Tokyo in 2023 and began developing import and export businesses connecting Japanese companies with overseas markets. His experience includes working with Japanese manufacturers and suppliers, developing international B2B partnerships, and managing logistics, banking, regulatory, and market-entry challenges.
As a foreign entrepreneur, Dmitry brings practical experience from both working in Japanese companies and building his own company in Tokyo.
